There have always been three races living on the known world. The Humans, who ruled, did not know of these other races till the great war broke out. The other races wanted control of the planet. Two families hated each other, the main branch of the races. Their goal was to wipe out the other species. The humans were the essayist to get rid of. They were sometimes used as food to strengthen the other races. The war lasted for over a hundred years.

A small group of humans and some outcast from the races fled. Among them was a young girl. She was the strangest out of the others. She learned why the fighting broke out and how to cure it. It turns out that the races were not compatibly unless a third entity came into focus. The Leaders of the two armies learned of this girl and seized fighting to rid themselves of this great threat. Fifty years later there was no trace of the strange girl and there was no true fighting. The races stayed on their side of the planet. One on the side where it was always night and cloudy and the other where it was always night but clear skies. The runaways lived in the only area where the sun shown, yet only twice a year.

Lucian groaned as his shoulder began to bleed again with a new hot pain. Blood bubbled to the surface. He looked at her, and didn't hesitate. He sank his teeth deeply into her neck, releasing as much poison as he could into her blood stream. He found Jason's venom, and began to suck it out of her, spitting it onto the ground when he couldn't take the quantity in his mouth.

Kana growled when he bit her neck. It hurt but she wouldn't let herself attack him. "Hurry...." she muttered as she clutched her arms even tighter. She could feel her own blood running down her hands. It hurt her nails in her own skin but shewould deal with it to save Lucian. Kana's head was foggy. At least she wouldn't be awake for long the loss of more blood would help that. Kana leaned against Lucian making sure not to touch the area where she had bit Lucian. She hoped she would enter unconciousness soon.

He stopped and held her. He was sure that she would be weaker now. The doctor rose from beneath the table under which he had been hiding, and Lucian demanded that he help Kana. The doctor, afraid to disobey, began to wrap her arms in a white bandage. Lucian held a hand to her neck to stop the bleeding until the doctor got a chance to look at it. Gently, he pushed her head back so that it lay against his shoulder. He didn't mind that it touched his wound. All he cared about right now was that she would be okay.

Kana slowly but surely removed her own nails from her arms. Once her nails were out the blood came even faster. Her whole body started to shake but it was ok. The pain hurt a lot worse but that could always be healed. The pain that hit her right now was the pain of the heart. she had attacked Lucian. Kana could never forgive herself for it. She didn't know what to do. Kana let the doctor do what he had to do but deep inside her heart she wanted to die. She had attacked someone special to her and it wasn't exceptable. Kana rested her head on Lucian's shoulder as tears ran down her face.

Lucian sat there, watching. He looked over at her when he felt something warm land on his arm. Tears. He wiped them away from her eyes with his thumb, catching them as they fell. "Why are you crying?" he asked her. "You are a member of the guard now. You are safe. You will be healed. Allya will not lose her venom, nor you. You are free of the prison cells... Why, you should be happy." Lucian told her, his hand taking away another tear from her soft skin. "What's wrong?"

If it wasn't for the loss of blod, Kana most likely would of run from him then. Kana couldn't make out any other words. Her head was to foggy. Kana fell unconcioiusin Lucian's arms.

(She had some fainting issues.)

Lucian held her tightly, wrapping one arm around her waist. The other came under her arm and stopped at the opposite shoulder. The doctor left once he finished with her neck. Lucian didn't want him to look at his shoulder. It had stopped bleeding by the time he was done with Kana anyway. He burrowed his head against hers and closed his eyes, though he was still awake. He just held her there as he sat on the floor, listening to each breath she drew.
